I GOT A JOB!!!! May 3, 2008
So I’ve been working with the temp agency, waiting on a job. I really didn’t think I’d get it just because well, it was taking a while. Well at first when I had the interview with the temp agency, they said there was an opening with customer service. For me personally I don’t have that much experience in customer service, but I’ve touched base with it at certain jobs. The lady at the temp agency said oh I’m submitting your resume this next week and you probably won’t have an interview till the following week. I’m thinking, man is this going to take forever. So I waited this past week for the lady at the temp agency to put in the resume and I’d give her a call. Surprisingly she called me on Tues and said that they wanted to interview me on Thurs. All the information that she gave me about the company and what I’d be doing if I got hired blah blah blah…it kinda made my head spin. Like she said “I’m going to send you some sample questions of what they’re going to ask you so that you can be prepared, I’m going to mail you directions and please get there 5-10 minutes early, bring your resume, dress business attire. If you’re going to be hired there’s a 5 week training of which you will be tested on. They highly suggest you take notes, because the test is that hard. You can’t miss one day of your training or you can be terminated…..” and the list went on. That just intimidated me, and I was scared to death. I went to the interview. Nervous as heck, but I just prayed to Heavenly Father, praying that my mind would be clear and that I could get my point across. Anywho the interview went alright. At the bottom of the page of the sample questions the temp agency sent me, it said that I needed to come to the interview with 3 questions (at least) about goals and performance merits. After the interview I looked at the paper and thought “Dang it! Now I’m not going to get the job because I forgot to ask questions.” The lady at Edison (the company I was trying to get into) said that they’d let the temp agency know so they can call me and let me know if I got the job or not. Most of the day went by and I was slightly disappointed b/c I would’ve thought I’d get a call by noon. So 3:00 rolls by and I’m at the theater watching a movie and I get a call from the temp agency. “Congratulations you got the job!” After hearing that I was like “ALRIGHT!!!!” man that was a relief. But yeah I’m excited. Its still in Rancho and it pays $13/hr…so I’m pretty stoked b/c well its $13/hr…that says a lot considering Idaho sucks when it comes to being paid ![]()
